A new painting companion for Tina!

2/20/09

Joey moved in!
We will try everything we can, to give him a warm and loving home, plenty of exercise and gourmet meals :)
Sure, it is a little bit of a challenge, but we felt it was the right thing to do and the two dogs seem to get along pretty good for now.
We are excited to be able to give the little dude a place to stay, and hope he likes it!

Love, Tina (this week I felt like 'the crazy dog lady')

Jan SwanJoey is a very lucky doggie. I've been following your journey with him and am so happy that you decided to keep him with you. Congrats, as well, on the showing of your lovely art.

The latest from Joey (the dog formerly known as Manny)

2/17/09

Joey (aka Manny) the abondened dog is enjoying his stay at our 'doggie spa' - See picture :)
He seems very tired or sad..not sure. We know for sure now that the person that is his registered owner doesn't want him. After two days of desperately trying to get a hold of her, I got a less than charming e-mail (at least a reply!) telling me to do what I want with him.
Well, that is just lovely.
Can't judge the person, they might be in some kind of serious trouble (hope not!) and I will just have to let it go. All that counts now is to find the dog a caring and loving home. Which might be right here, or somewhere else. We will make the decision this week. For now we will take good care of him and let him rest and recover.

So many people shared their concerns and thoughts about Manny with me through Craigslist and I appreciated every single message. It shows me how much people do care and it gives me hope.

All the emotions and tears from the last few days should make for some strong paintings in the future.

Love,
tina

Manny

2/15/09

We have a guest in our house!!

He was wandering around the park and he decided to join me for a while when I was jogging. I took him to the vet and they found a micro chip. His name is Manny (does not look like a Manny!) Bummer is the person who seems to be the owner lives on the other end of town and does not appear to care too much. @^%#$%$#^%$#!!!
He is hanging out with Emily (our dog) right now, they are both napping. Go figure!
Will head out and hang some posters, as it almost appears he might have been a guest in someone's house close to the park. Worth a try. Since he is such a charmer, a customer at the vet already offered to take him, they got in contact with me and offered him a good home (with 4 other dogs on 4 acres. Not bad!!). What a wonderful person!!
